What does membership mean?

Anyone over the age of 16 who lives in Finderne is entitled to be a member of the FDT. Becoming a member means that you will be kept up to date with what’s going on and you’ll be able to have your say in shaping the FDT and what it does.

The Finderne Development Trust (FDT) is a “membership company limited by guarantee” and is regulated by company law. As such the day to day running of the FDT is the responsibility of the Board of Directors who have statutory obligations to meet and must work within the Articles of Association* of the company. The Directors are also members of the company.

The role of the wider membership is to input into shaping the long-term strategy of the FDT. You will be involved in electing the Board of Directors at each annual general meeting and influencing the plans and priorities of activities that the FDT will undertake.

As a member you have the opportunity to help us build a thriving community in Finderne, perhaps even taking the future step of becoming a Board Director yourself.

It is our community – why not join us and help shape its future.

3 Types of membership are available:

ORDINARY – anyone who lives within the Finderne Community Council boundary, supports our objectives and activities and is aged 16 or over
