Launch of new FDT Winter Support Grant
The cost of living is rising, and many of us will face hardship this winter.
We know from our work during the COVID pandemic, that there are households in our community which will find the coming winter difficult. Many of us are reliant for heating on wood, coal, gas, and oil to heat our homes, all of which have to be bought in bulk at rapidly rising prices.
The Finderne Development Trust has therefore allocated funds to help those in our community most severely affected by the cost-of-living crisis. We need your help, as members of the FDT, to spread the word that support is available.
We intend to partner with other organisations, such as our local churches, to reach those people who may not be on social media to give them access to funding.
If you have neighbours, friends or relatives who live in the Finderne area (as defined by the Finderne Community Council Boundary) who might wish to apply for help this winter, please direct them to us.
You can download an application form from our website, request one via email at hello@findernedevelopmenttrust.com, or drop into our office at Logie Steading to pick up a paper copy.
If you work with an organisation which could help to spread the word, please get in touch to discuss working together.
The scheme will run from December 2022 to February 2023, or until all the allocated funds have been used.
One-off grants of up to £500 per household are available and there will be no means testing or intrusive questions to answer. We will ask what the money will be used for, in order to know what challenges our community is facing and to potentially inform future projects.
For further information, please contact our Development Manager, Jan MacPherson, or Development Officer, Ian Chorlton, at hello@findernedevelopmenttrust.com or phone on 01309 221 026.
Please note that between Thursday 22nd December and Tuesday 3rd January, that the FDT office will be closed. Emails, post, phone messages and hand delivered applications received during that period will be dealt with on our return.
